Eugene Kawai graduated from the Tokyo University of Arts with
a bachelor’s degree in Special Soloist Program as a full
scholarship student, and is currently studying his master’s
degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. He
also often takes musical guidances from Maestro Viktor
Tretyakov and Bruno Monsaingeon.
Born in Tokyo, Japan in 2002, Eugene is the first prize winner of
the 13th Lipinski and Wieniawski International Competition
(2015), the 10th International Tchaikovsky Competition for
Young Musicians (2017), and the 2nd Viktor Tretyakov
International Violin Competition (2021).
Eugene has given recitals in major venues and been invited to
music festivals in Japan and abroad. Appeared as a soloist
with orchestras such as the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra,
the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony
Orchestra, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra
